Baby likes to play at every stage of their life. Parent often wonder about how to play with their little one. Because of there limited vision, motor control and lack of speech makes it hard to play with babies. 1. Touch your baby to build connections

The easiest way to play with newborn is to touch them, hold them. Touching helps to build a strong connection. When babies are born, the first way to make a connection with them is to give skin-to-skin touch. It will help make the connection and give the baby a secure feeling in the outer world.

When we touch baby’s different part, baby get stimulus and try to move those parts. So, help them to relate and coordinate with touch. Give them hugs and kisses to give them the feeling of being loved.

You can also hold the baby in your arm and play rock and roll game by moving back and forth. You can also sing while rolling. Try to look into the baby’s eyes to show interaction and build confidence.

 

Baby Massage (Important baby activity for physical growth)

Massage is a wonderful method for you and your partner to bond with your newborn while also being soothing. Your kid will feel nurtured and loved with each soft touch, deepening the link between you two. 
 
Massage provides numerous additional benefits for your infant:
– It helps to relax and calm your baby, allowing him to sleep better.
– It helps in weight increase, digestion aid, improved circulation, and relief from teething pain. 
– Massage may enhance your child’s mental, social, and physical development. 

Look into the Mirror

It is a great activity for baby to see himself in the mirror. Playing with a mirror is entertaining and beneficial to your child’s development and learning. Obviously, it aids in the development of their visual senses. 
Even during tummy time, you can utilize a mirror to keep your baby engaged while giving them extra time to develop their muscles and physical ability. It can help newborns to keep their heads up and look around. As they watch reflections of moving objects, their visual tracking skills improve. Mirrors encourage babies to reach, pat, and point, which helps them develop fine motor skills.

Soft Blocks

There are different types of Blocks in the market. Choose large and Non- toxic blocks, which are safe to play with babies. Blocks help the baby to learn as it shows some images and sometimes has sound in it. It keeps the baby entertained and help in visual and sensory development. 

Peek-a-Boo

Play this old but still most entertaining game to interact with your baby. Place yourself close to your child so that they can see your face clearly.
Hands, a blanket, or a stuffed animal might be used to shield your face.
“Peek-A-Boo!” exclaim in a loud joyous voice as you open your hands or remove the blanket or stuffed object from in front of your face.
Peekaboo can be played almost any time while baby is awake and alert (and well-rested and fed!). In fact, the more time baby spends playing games like peekaboo, which combine visual development, gross motor abilities, and social contact, the healthier for her developing brain.

Cycling

Move your baby’s leg in a cycling motion, while moving hold it inside for 3 to 4 sec. and then move it back toward the outside and again hold for a few sec. You can perform this activity anytime especially while massage. You may also observe your child kicking and stretching his or her legs. This action improves leg muscles and prepares your baby to roll over, which happens at the age of 4 – 6 months. Apart from this, It also helps to Relieve Gas and Colic issues in Babies

Play while changing Diaper

Convert diaper changing time to a fun activity by making it more interactive. Talk to your baby like what are you doing and talk about the process. It will help him to involve and listen to you carefully. So It will help him to get more focused and improve listening skills.

Musical Toys

Great way to keep baby alert. The baby tries to identify different sounds. It’s a great activity for brain development as the baby tries to listen to it carefully and try to memorize sounds. 

Other Activities

Apart from above-mentioned baby activities to play with your little one there are some other activities too that you can include to play with your body and improving his development skills.

  • Patterned cards: like shapes or animals or any  different pattern that should be big in size so baby can focus easily.
  • Different Texture: Baby likes to touch so different texture attract them. Its a great activity that babies enjoy a lot. So, you can use any texture like tissue paper or any clothing. Make sure it should be soft and safe for your baby.
  • Immitation: Baby likes Immitation. So try to imitate babies sound.  It shows that you are paying attention and baby feel more confident and try to express more of his feeling.
